Brass Dread Beads, Set of 10, Varied Length

This listing is for a set of 10 varied length solid brass coils like those shown in the photos. These coils are very strong, and are not made to bend. Each coil will have smooth, hand filed edges.

This hair jewelry is intended to be worn on locs, dreadlocks, braids, or beards.

• Varied lengths: ~6mm to 3cm
• Sample design hole diameters: 7mm

Choices are:

• Raw unsealed brass
• Sealed brass

Both choices arrive with a high polish, but the raw brass option is purposely designed with no sealant to encourage natural patina development for the purpose of achieving an earthy, natural look. The amount of tarnish will depend on environmental exposure. The sealed option will retain it's high polish and will only experience a bit of warming in color tone.

Generally speaking, I recommend day wear only for all my designs. Proper care of your jewelry will ensure it lasts for many years.

If you choose the sealed beads, keeping the beads day wear only will protect the clear coat and assure no moisture breaks through and starts the tarnish process.

However, if you choose the raw brass option, permanent wear is sometimes preferred, as exposure to moisture and body care products help expedite the development of brass patina and tarnish.
