Of all the heirloom pieces I've made for this recent drop, this one is among the most special to me. Working out exactly how I wanted to design the cuff was a challenge because I wanted to achieve an interesting goal. Because Genea's recycled bottle glass drop was indeed made from recycled bottles, I thought to myself, what would it look like if I merged a recycled style with the retro funk of the 50s-60s(think Jetsons), and the art nouveau organic elegance that was popular at the turn of the last century?
For the cuff portion of this, I added smooth, polished rings over the top of a hammered and texturized base featuring an aged texture and organic smooth edges. I added faceted drops of rare orange spessartite mandarin garnet, Hubei and Mexican Turquoise, and a a woven wire detail to compliment two Third Eye Gypsys lampwork glass beads. The total combined length of this cuff is about 5 1/2", and the hole diameter is about 2.5cm.
This cuff is actually matched with a pair of recycled bottle glass earrings that are also part of this drop. She does make recycled bottle glass dread beads in the same type of recycled glass frequently.
